Aloha Charge Helps Bring New DC Fast Charging to Māʻalaea, Maui.
The Maui site is scheduled to open in September 2026.
Exciting news from Hawaiʻi: our sister company, Aloha Charge, is partnering with Kempower and the Māʻalaea Triangle Association to bring a new state-of-the-art DC fast charging site to Māʻalaea, Maui, scheduled to open in late September.
Located near a key highway junction, the new site is designed to support Maui’s growing EV community with reliable, accessible fast charging in a strategic location. The site will feature four Kempower Satellites and support CCS1, NACS, and CHAdeMO, helping ensure more drivers can charge regardless of vehicle make or model.
For Hawaiʻi, charging infrastructure is not one-size-fits-all. Island geography, tourism, local drivers, rental fleets, energy costs, and limited fast-charging access all create unique challenges. Strategic sites like Māʻalaea can make a real difference in building a stronger, more driver-friendly EV charging network.
“Māʻalaea Triangle Association is excited to partner with Kempower to provide this state-of-the-art EV charging station in Māʻalaea,” said Tapani Vuori, MTA board member and General Manager of the nearby Maui Ocean Center.
The Kempower Satellites at the Maui Ocean Center, like those featured above, will be the most advanced DC fast chargers in the state of Hawaii.
“This is part of our long-term strategy to support the green transition and help contribute to cleaner, healthier communities,” Vuori continued.
Jim Burness, Founder and CEO of Aloha Charge and parent company National Car Charging, added: “Hawaiʻi’s EV charging needs are unique, and strategic locations like Māʻalaea are essential to building a more reliable, accessible, and driver-friendly charging network.”
All of us at National Car Charging are proud to support the work of Aloha Charge as they help expand reliable EV infrastructure across Hawaiʻi. This project is an exciting step forward for Maui drivers, local businesses, visitors, and the broader transition to cleaner transportation across the islands.
Mahalo to Kempower, the Māʻalaea Triangle Association, and everyone helping bring this important project to life. We can’t wait to see drivers charging in Māʻalaea soon.
